This feels like it's one of those posts that starts with "Sorry, I haven't posted in a while" but it's not. I'm not going to apologize for the lack of updates. Things were happening and life got in the way. That's a good thing. There's exciting stuff going on in the world right now and I want to be a part of it.
So, what's going on these days?
First and foremost, I have been directing the Spacecat Labs Presents troupe for the last month. We are doing short form and I am stoked to see them on stage. There is a lot of potential for this group and from what I've seen in rehearsals, they will be fantastic when they take the stage. It's such a fun group and the audience loves short form improv. The shows will be on Thursdays during November and December. Come see it.
Second, I have two shows this weekend. First the Station Theater Halloween Show. We will be showing the audience just how bad a good event could've gone. FREE BEER!!! PLUS, I have been working with Our Savior Lutheran Church for their celebration of 500 years of the Lutheran Church. I am in a small but fun production that shows the birth of the Reformation. I get to play Pope Leo X and it's a great chance for me to work on my Italian accent. I look forward to it this Sunday.
Third, the Astros are in the World Series. Now, I'm not normally a sports fan so this didn't really excite me. However, I am a people fan, and watching Houston and the people in it all team together and get so excited for a chance to win it all is awesome. Especially, since less than two months ago, we got hit with Harvey. This series is a nice little break from all the terrible things that have been happening in Houston and in the country. It puts a broken community back together, even though we stuck together pretty damn well during Harvey. People are still dealing with their homes and their losses but, like I said, this is a great morale boost for the city.
Forth thing. Battle Station is coming to a close soon. The finals will be on November 5th between Space Rhyme Continuum and Roger And Her Son. It's going to be a great show. Next season will start in January with a new format and style. It's going to be awesome.
Well, that's about it. Time to make that scratch. Until next time!
